Hughes puts block on Arnautovic move

Marko_Arnautović_playing_for_Austria_vs_Wales_01Stoke City boss has admitted that Mark Hughes Marko Arnautovic has put in a transfer request after rejecting a bid from the Irons.

Arnautovic is clearly angling for a move to the London Stadium after the Hammers are understood to have put in a bid of £15 million.

Hughes told the Stoke Sentinel: “Well, Marko and his people have put in a transfer request but that happens on occasions. Any comings and goings are at our discretion and it’s our decision ultimately.

“Players can express an opinion or a view in terms of where they see their future but at the end of the day contracted players are contracted to the club and ultimately we have the final say.”

Arnautovic started Stoke’s first pre-season friendly tonight, limping off at half-time in a 1-0 win over Neuchatel Xamax.

  1. 9 times out of 10 a player will get a move if they want one,its very rare for them not too get their way no matter what bullshyte the manager comes out with.Anyway i thought the owner at Stoke said it could be a goer if the price was right.Dont seem too be singing off the same hymn sheet do they.

    • I completely agree Rads and what a fine point you make old chap 😀😀

      • Thank you old boy.I appreciate you agreeing with a fellow C&H clique member 😂😂😂
But please dont agree with me again or you will be accused of being up my ass & Stan is already there apparently 😨😀

  2. Really sad to say that I have lost complete faith in whoever is responsible for identifying transfer targets. Though I like this guy as a player he does not strike me as a team player and if we are looking for players with pace and power he does not fit into this category. I think we need a player like this but I would much prefer Sigurdsson.

  3. Ha Ha yes because we are going to pay £50 million for Sig arent we.You think he hasnt got pace and power. He had us on toast last season!!

  4. Johnham you say he’s not a team player, has no pace, has no power yet you like him as a player. Think you need a lay down mate.
