We are also claimed to have Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac – available on a free this summer – on their shortlist along with Jabier Hernandez.

The Cherries can more or less cenent their place in the Premier League tonight with victory over Bolton in a game which may give Hammers fans the chance of checking out Wilson.

  1. Watched him alot this season.Good championship player but nothing more than that imho.He was only playing league1 for Coventry last season.I dont think he would do much in the Prem, bit of a Baldock,Maynard type of signing for me if we did get him.But he will probably score 20 for Bournemouth in the Prem next season & ram my thoughts right up my jacksie, lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I agree Tyson we need more than that we keep being liked with these players but he is going to cost as much as Hernandez,
Rhodes is the same at Blackburn or Mcormack Fulham,
We need to look at a standard above that,Gignac is a proven international Player and even if his wages are high ne is free,
But then Salkho came from a 2nd division side,
We should be fighting for players like Inges at Burnley free and looks good in claret and blue.

  3. I like Hernandez, he knows Premier, he’s young, he is worth an economic effort. In my opinion Gignac is similar to Carroll, he’s a powerful striker with strong header, he’s not young and I think his price would be high. I know Jesรจ (Real Madrid) is not happy there, if Hernandez stays in Madrid we could try to take Jesรจ (on loan for example). I like Austin too (if QPR will be relegated he will not follow his squad) or Kramaric (if Leicester will be relegated). It’s all hypothesis.

  4. I wouldn’t mid signing Troy Deeney from Watford. But as they have just been promoted I can’t see the club willing to sell or the player willing to leave.

  5. Deeney again goes down the same road as the others nothing special,
We need someone with a bit of magic or we might as well keep BFS and his tried and trusted methods we are crying out for a Di Canio or Sinclair to play along side Salkho,
If we want to play a proven championship player then give Lee ago we had Freddy Sears,
And his doing the same as others named,

  6. Payet (OM) has great feet, but he’s a midfielder, do you want someone with magic feet? Take Menez (Milan), he’s a wizard (he’s called PhenoMenez or Houdini lol). I’m serious he’s really magic, he reminds me players like Di canio, Isco, or Ravel. The problem is that he’s doing really well here and Milan will not sell him. Anyway I’m happy if he stays here or goes to West Ham.

  7. I saw that disallowed goal Menez scored Matte, where he did the back heel that curled like a banana.Crazy skills ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. We can do a lot better then raiding promotion side’s. bit embarrassing really

    • My sentiments exactly Essex.

    • Well we raided Cresswell from Ipswich, not even a promotion side & that hasnt turned out to embarressing has it ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • We were lucky there with Cresswell.

        • Haha,ok,so we couldnt be lucky with other championship players as well then. All players signed from the championship would be an embarressment. So it was an embarressment signing Sakho from a french league 2 team.Guess we were lucky with him too, lol,we have had some real luck ๐Ÿ˜€

      • You even said on the first comment he’s nothing more then a championship player. Gignac,Hernandez,Jesรฉ or Callum Wilson… It’s a no brainer lol.

        • Yeah i did say that about Callum Wilson, but my point was that there are some decent little gems in the Championship who could make the move up to the Prem & it shouldnt be seen as embarressing.I to want the bigger name, world class signings.I just ment that is see no embarressment in looking at the championship guys as well ๐Ÿ˜‰

          • If anything though I’d raid the teams going down, If Qpr go I’d love to see Austin as a Cole replacement. Agreed though you can find the odd gems in championship football

  9. He’s no different to what we’ve already got IMO.
Therein lies our problem for the past decade or so.
Our recruitment has been terrible, the squads have been so in balanced that we end up with a right ol’ dogs mess!

A team/ squad is made up from many different parts, some industrious ( Boyce, Bonds, Moncur), some that can run with the ball at pace ( Sinclair, Devonshire), some sublime vision and skill ( Brooking, Dickens, Brady) some goal scorers ( Robson, Cottee, McAvennie, Dicanio, Kanoute, Ashton)
Central defenders who can play out from the back, full backs who can bomb on and cover the midfield partner in front of them.
If we ever get back to recruiting players that fit OUR footballing philosophy, the sooner we can get back to talking about those magic moments during a game post match.

  10. Now we’re talking, that’s what the hammers fans hearts are made of,that’s what we are all after exciting adventurous football not boring point grabbing safety,
That’s what bonds us togeather that’s why we hate everything about our present ethics of football at our great club and if you don’t feel this tingle in your bones you are not a true football fan,
That’s what we call the Westham Way,
THANKS ALL YOU LADS FOR YOUR COMMENTS ABOVE ONCE AGAIN I AM A
    BELIEVER LONG LIVE WESTHAM UNITED

  11. His running is amazing. He’s scored 23 goals I think it is and with his commitment he would make it in the EPL I’m sure. His turn and shot for the 3rd goal tonight and when clean through and tripped for a penalty were classy. Sakho came from the French 2nd division and isn’t as good imo. And Wilson is only 23…

I think under the right manager, (not Sam Allardyce) Wilson would be fine for us but never an Aguero or Suarez. But when are we ever going to have a player like them? I like his movement and his finishing and work rate is very good. What’s not to like?

  12. Decent squad player i guess.Ings & Austin both came up from the championship & done pretty well for themselves.I guess it is a gamble you take sometimes. Not sure, depends what other irons we have in the fire i guess. But whats to say he wont stay at Bournemouth now they are Prem team.

  13. He is still young and more or less not going to have a problem playing every week at his present club,
The new owner who is a Russian with plenty of money to spend on players has no need to sell and will spend the same sort of money we will and at moment the way Ithey are playing and the way we are they would have no trouble turning us over,
We need to go back to grass roots which is what the majority want produce local talent and actually give them a chance in the first team,
Play entertaining football all the time not respect the point ( they will come if you play well )
There is talent all over the world we need to find it,
Howe is showing the way and in years to come may be a great England Manager but not for us right now and if I was him I would stay put
