The Hammers have joined the race for Montpelier forward Steve Mounie according to some reports this morning.
The 22 year old is fancied by a number of clubs but the Irons have particularly good links to the French market and could steal a march in the chase .
Watford are reportedly particularly keen but although the seven times Benin international extended his contract with the club until 2019, the Irons are keen to talk with him.
West Brom’s Tony Pulis is another Premier League manager who has had his eyes on the front man, whilst being quoted as being a “12 million target, is rated at around £5 million by the authoritative www.transfermarkt.com.
Currently the Hammers board members are away on their summer holidays but will be back behind their desks in time for the opening of the summer transfer window on June 10 when talks with Montpelier and the player may get underway.
Not one for the first team obviously, might be a good shout for the U23s,but not for no where near the 13 million, not very inspiring. COYI
Silly season is in full swing now, West Ham being linked with every other striker in europe by the media. Every day there is another new name mentioned, it’s laughable that some fans believe what is written (not meaning you baddow).
So far we have ‘bidded’ on a goalkeeper, right back (Zab) + other defenders, a whole new midfield & 100+ strikers. I think even if we had the money I’m not sure we would sign all of them lol.
Still it keeps the anti-board fans busy who grab at anything to bash them. ‘Not good enough, unrealistic targets, end up panic buying, wont spend any money, i hate Brady it’s all her fault’ etc etc
He is decent striker for the Money.
But I like to see us linked with and make a bid For Quincy Promes who had a Brilliant Season.
And of course Timo But he will have a lot of suitors.
