Irons ready to offer Rice big new deal

Declan Rice will  be offered a new deal this summer which will tie him to the club for a further four or five years.

The 19 year old is currently working on an Academy contract of around £2k a week but the Irons are ready to put him on £20k a week with appearance clauses which could see it almost double that.

Talks will start when Manuel Pellegrini returns from his break in Chile with Rice more than ready to commit his future to the club.

The teenager has been inspirational since his arrival in the first team and shown himself to be a top class player in the making as he has impressed against some of the country’s top strikers.

And he has been praised to the skies by his international boss Martin O’Neill who has declared this is a player who is going to the very top.

Now his progress will be rewarded in hard cash with the club seriously upping his basic wage while incentivising him to maintain his form via appearance clauses.

  1. Great news. Good for him – well deserved. I can hear “Declan Rice, he’s one of our own” bellowing from the stands next year when he has Kane in his pocket.
