Jack Wilshere seems determined to stay in the capital if possible after announcing his end to his Arsenal career.
The Hammers have been predictably linked with an interest in the free agent who supported the Hammers as a boy.
Wilshere is said to earn £130,000 per week at the North London club and reportedly turned down an offer of £100,000 per week to sign a new contract.
It is claimed that Wilshere is keen to remain in the capital but is looking for a multi-million signing on fee together with a six-figure weekly wage on a long-term contract.
The Hammers were previously cautious over Wilshere’s injury record and combined with his wage demands made a move unlikely but a final decision on whether there is any interest will be made by Manuel Pellegrini.
Wilshere has reportedly told his agents to talk to West Ham, Crystal Palace and Fulham to see if a deal could be reached to keep him in the Premier League and in London. Outside of the Premier League Fenerbahce and AC Milan have been made bookies favourites in recent days to sign the 26-year-old.
Sorry I don’t care if his granddads father’s father was a West Ham fan – for me he portraits everything in a football I do not like in particular he is lazy and imo has a bad attitude. I would not have him anywhere near a dressing room.
That’s very harsh and totally wrong. He is certainly not lazy and his attitude is that of a winner. I would be glad to see him playing for his boyhood club.
The guy is a class player. He’s had his injuries but if he was to stay fit he’d be a good addition to the squad, especially with Lanzini now out for the season.
He’s a hard working creative team player whenever I’ve seen him play. On a free transfer I would take him all day even if it was just to get one over on the Arsenal fans I know who love him to bits and are gutted he’s leaving.
▲ what he said. No no no.
I haven’t seen us linked with anyone better in central midfield than Wilshere but it doesn’t look likely to me that we will sign him.
LOL I think the Nice midfielder is in a different class. The proof is in the pudding – have a look at the Arsenal site and you don’t see an outcry that he is being allowed to leave. Another injury prone player with a lazy attitude – I watched him last season and every time the ball went behind him he did not burst a gut to get back. I certainly don’t want one of my two midfielders doing that. He also cannot see danger and is slow to react. He was correctly left out of the England squad. Enough said.
I’d have him in my team given half the chance
