Jedinak elbow on Sakho may bring action

jedinak-west-ham-crystal-palace-elbow-upton-park_3270884Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak looks likely to be in trouble after delivering an elbow into Diafra Sakho’s face late in yesterday’s game.

Sam Allardyce complained afterwards: “When you are in a winning position there is no need to even attempt something like that. I think he is pretty lucky to have got away with it.”

And TV evidence appears to support the west Ham boss’ complaint which could now produce retrospective action if reviewed by the FA.

The player insists he meant no harm when he clattered into Sakho late in the game catching the Senegal striker on he side of his face.

He said: “I am not sure how I caught him, but I did not mean to.”

The west Ham manager, despite claiming it could have been a red card which could have given the Irons a way back into the game added: “But I don’t want to make any excuses for our performance.”

Palace boss Alan Pardew said: “I don’t think there was anything malicious in it.”

  1. A shocker – definite ‘Violent Conduct’ – three-match ban!

It’s funny really, we were talking during the game saying how good Jedinak was, and how he would be ideal as the holding player in West Ham’s midfield!

  2. Could have cause a broken check bone or jaw.. should be in big trouble for it

  3. Deserves the four match ban (already sent off this season) he’ll get, especially after saying he didn’t mean to do it. Yeh, right!!
