Lanzini wants to stay here “for many years”

Manuel+Lanzini+West+Ham+United+v+SV+Werder+0Pg6_ic94sIlManuel Lanzini wants to stay at West Ham for many years and also wants to become a Carlos Tevez-type hero figure.

Lanzini said: “I want to stay for many years if the club wants me. West Ham is a great club where you can develop.

“I want to play in the Olympic Stadium. It’s a beautiful arena and will take West Ham to another level.”

Tevez is a player Lanzini has always looked up to and the 22 year old said: “Carlos is a fantastic player who I remember saved West Ham.

Everywhere he has gone, he’s won many trophies so I think you can only have good things to say about him.

“I’ve never had the chance to speak to him but if ever it arises, I’d like to because he has so much experience. If I could achieve anywhere near what he has at this club or during his career, I’ll be happy.”

He knows he has a tough job on hand with the added responsibility of  trying to compensate following the injury to Dimitri Payet admitting: “It was a big blow because he’s one of our best players and you know he can win a game. But we have the players to replace him.

He told The Sun: “In terms of responsibility, it’s something we all have. When I arrived, I had the responsibility of making progress and proving I can play here because I’ve played in leagues where the level is lower.

“I’m not going to compare myself with Dimitri because there’s no comparison to be made. Instead, I’m going to continue to take on the responsibility that applies to me.”
