Exclusive: Rosenior on goals and injury nightmares

Lleroyeroy Rosenior has admitted his West Ham career didn’t last as long as he would have liked!

Rosenior, who played 67 times for the Hammers after being signed by former boss, John Lyall, told West Ham podcast Moore Than Just A Podcast that as soon as he knew the club were keen on him, his mind was made up.

“As soon I knew it was West Ham, I said where’s the contract? As soon as I knew it West Ham I was off,” recalls Leroy, describing the move as “one of the best decisions I have ever made”.

Leroy was taking part in the second ClaretandHugh interview on the popular podcast.

In the interview, he reminisces about scoring 23 goals in a Hammers shirt before leaving east London to join Bristol City in 1992,  after being plagued by injury.pod

On his four years at West Ham, Rosenior said: “I loved it, absolutely loved it there – even though I spent a lot of time in surgery and the treatment room after my knee problems!

“It is a team very close to my heart because I was there a long time even though I didn’t play as much as I would have liked.”
