Less than 500 seats left at the Olympic Stadium

mapOne West Ham supporter received the following email from the club this week. Presumably, the supporter is on the West Ham priority waiting list.

Originally, West Ham planned to hold back 15 per cent of the Olympic Stadium seats from sale to season tickets. These 8,100 seats were to be sold to away fans and general sale but the demand for season tickets has changed that strategy and they have increased the number of season tickets on sale.

Premier League rules say the club must retain 5 per cent of the capacity for general sale to home supporters, which works out at 2,700 seats, and they must also reserve another 3,000 for away fans. The remaining 48,000 seats can be sold to bond-holders, corporate members and season ticket holders if they decide to.

“Dear Supporter,

Please see the attached stadium map. IF you have yet to purchase seats for the 2016/2017 season please contact me urgently.

We only have Band 4 seats available at £499 for Adults (over 21), £250 for Young Adults (16-21), Over 65’s & Disabled Supporters. Seats for under 16’s are only £99! Currently we have less the 500 seats left in blocks 226, 216 & 217. Blocks 216 & 217 are by the away fans in block 218. All the seats that are currently available fall within an area where you are not guaranteed seats for cup matches (see attached disclaimer). Our disclaimer will have to be signed and emailed back to me if you purchase seats.

Kind Regards,

Due to cup competition requirements, we are required to allocate up to 15% of the seats in the stadium to away fans for home cup matches. Your Season Ticket is being issued out of the seat allocation designated for away fans at home cup matches. This means that at times your seat may be part of the allocation required to fulfil the away section requirements and as such the following additional terms and conditions apply to your Season Ticket:
1. Your Season Ticket does not permit you to purchase the same seat as indicated on your Season Ticket for any home cup matches.
2. For home cup matches, subject to availability and on a first come first served basis, you will be offered an exclusive period within which to acquire tickets for alternative seats in the stadium.
3. We may allocate seats at our reasonable discretion but we will of course try our best to offer you an alternative seat of equivalent value to the seat indicated on your Season Ticket where possible.”
