Major twist aids Irons Champions League chance

|

championsA major new twist hit the race for the Champions league yesterday when Southampton crushed Manchester City to open up a possible new route for West Ham into the top four.

It meant that City – bound for a Real Madrid second leg semi final clash this week – on 64 points with tough games against Arsenal and Swansea to come are on the brink!

They represent pretty tough tests for a team showing such erratic forms and any more slip ups or decisions to play a weakened team could prove terrific news for the Irons – whom I predict here and now will win their last three games to finish with 68 points.

I’m really not going to bother doing the maths because there are too many variables but the scene has changed quite dramatically even since yesterday and I’ll leave it with you to ponder on this Bank Holiday Monday.

We are the in-form team of the Premier League having been unbeaten in ten games and I fancy us more strongly than any of those around us to keep that going to the end with maximum points.

For the record here are the the remaining games of the challengers again:

West Ham

Swansea City (home)

Manchester United (home)

Stoke City (away)

Possible points tally: 68

Man U

Leicester City (home)

Norwich City (away)

West Ham (away)

Bournemouth (home)

Possible points tally 71

Liverpool

Watford (home)

Chelsea (home)

WBA (away)

Possible points tally 64

Southampton

Spurs (away)

Crystal Palace (Home)

Possible points tally 63

Manchester City

Arsenal (home)

Swansea (away)

We should be able to beat Swansea . The huge crunch game is obviously Man Utd .
If we can beat them and they lose away to Norwich then yes we can start to dream again .
They looked very good against Leicester , but were lucky to have 11 players on the pitch midway through the second half . They should have been minus two players for Thier visit to the Boleyn . The other crunch game ( although we are not involved ) is Arsenal v Man City . Fingers crossed . It could all come down to the very last game of the season away to Stoke to win that coverted 4th spot .
    Come on You Hammers

Manure can only get 68 points because there is no way the ref will get them points against us,
And 2 points lost to Leicester means only 66 possible,
    5th place in the bag,
Now we need the Gooners to do us a favour,

Imagine if we didn’t keep drawing when Payet was injured. That & poor refs decisions has prob cost us big time. Still been a fantastic last season at the grand old girl, a worthy send off & could still be even better.. we will all look back at this season with great proud.
