Martinez nears West Ham announcement

|

Antonio Martinez is nearing his announcement as the latest signing for West Ham.  The 18-year-old starlet from Valencia, who has scored 100 goals in the last four seasons was pictured at West Ham’s training ground posing with a young fan.

The news should come as little surprise after West Ham Chairman, David Sullivan confirmed as much to Claret and Hugh five days ago.  Speaking exclusively to the site he told us ”Yes, I can confirm he will sign in the next 7 days. There is a large fee if the player is success and a small one of he’s not. He’s one for the future. Hopefully he can be on the fringes of the first team within a year.”

Reports from Spain claim the Hammers will pay an initial fee of up to one million Euros which could rise to 3 million Euros on certain performance factors which corresponds closely to what we have been told. Martinez has starred in Valencia’s youth teams for the past few years, but it is said he has grown tired over his lack of first-team opportunities. The contract is thought to include a sell on clause.

Looks a good one for the future, another possibly on the way with our allegedly official bid for Levante’s Victor Camarase.

  • bubs says:

The friends I have talked to here think he is a good prospect as is Camarase and think both clubs are stupid letting them go on the cheap,
Not a good time here for both clubs Lavante are in the same position as Villa and Valencia lost again this week and are in the same Position as Norwich

Watched a bit of Levante this season bubs. They are chronic, haha.Valencia has lots of sad fans from both clubs at the moment it appears, lol 🙂

Hmm he’s grown tired of a lack of first team opportunities, he’s not going to get many with us I wouldn’t have thought

Had the same thought Chris .
But money cures most problems !!!
Good player ! Still a kid ! Don’t see him making the side ,what with the likes of batishioui on the radar !
Another funny signing ? Luca Balic , etc , I just go on history and that tells me not many young ones make it through to the first team !
Same old same as ? Only time will tell .

Everyone has to start some where,if his natural goal scoring ability keeps growing he could be worth a fortune,
He is better the Sears,Brown and Probably Lee already,
Let’s wait and see if at €1 million it’s cheap or not

Paying €1m for a kid is nothing for a football club these days.Just like us buying something for a ton.It is a punt worth taking & the fee is a drop in the ocean.Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It’s the way to discover a diamond that’s out there.OK a few won’t come up to scratch but you only need one to be the business & you have struck gold 🙂

I’m happy about this purchase and I believe in bubs, our Spanish (English) Ambassador… lol now that Neville’s gone, you can take your sunglasses and your fake mustache off bubs, you’re safe… lol 😀
