Moyes ‘first team’ ready for action

Hammers hoping for bids

Hammers hoping for bids

It looks certain to be “as you were ” when the Hammers line up against Bournemouth at the London Stadium tomorrow (Sat).

With no new injury worries beyond the regular  Andy Carroll absenteeism David Moyes is free to pick what looks very much like his most favoured first team.

He rang the changes in a big way for the FA Cup replay but looks set to return to the line-up which scored such a brilliant victory over Huddersfield on the road last weekend.

And that will see the likes of Andre Ayew again out of the frame with the club hoping that a decent late offer will come in for the former Swansea player, regularly linked with a return to the club since his £20 million record signing at the time.

Here’s the line up we expect to see as the team goes in search of three more precious points :

Adrian, Zabaleta, Ogbonna, Collins, Cresswell, Noble, Kouyate, Obiang, Masuaku, Lanzini, Arnautovic

  1. Spot on there Hugh!
I assume that ‘Moishe’ will use a 3-5-2 or a 3-5-1-1 formation, with Lanzini playing behind Arnautovic.
While this set-up looks great, it highlights the necessity of having a classy attacking midfielder and a strong striker who can fit in for Lanzini and Arnautovic, should either or both get injured. Let’s hope that “Moishe’ can get some players in asap in order to make sure we don’t start losing games against teams we should be beating (plus any hopes of a good FA Cup run)

  2. Spot on Max. This looks a reasonable PL line up. But the best word you can us for the bench is ‘thin’. In the areas you mention it is almost non existent. It is also a West Ham team so there is no chance that this side could unchanged by injuries for another couple of weeks until replacements are brought in (which itself is a massive IF but that’s another issue!). So we are going to be playing some of these key upcoming games with gaps in key positions. I really hope it is not up front, now that AC has again fallen by the wayside.

  3. Agree Max & 64 and if Arnie & Lanzini are on form have no doubt we will win. Hopefully Cheik will be continuing to play better if startsb& help cover Zaba like he did last PL game. Otherwise I’d play Cullen.
But we owe Bournemouth a thumping & think we will win 3-1
