Moyes names Irons Mr Motivator

New Irons boss David Moyes believes Stuart Pearce is the man to set the Hammers squad and fans on fire.

Psycho looks an inspired backroom team choice who clearly sees him as the club’s Mr Motivator.

The manager said: “He’s got a real fire in his belly which hasn’t changed since he was a player.

“He has bundles of experience, as a player and a manager. He has great knowledge.

“I want every angle covered. I feel as if I’ve brought people in who can do different jobs for me as well. I hope if they’re all at it then it makes my job even easier at the top.

“West Ham have got an awful lot going for them. We’ve got a fabulous stadium which we will play in for the next 100 years. We have to start getting used to it and start winning there.

  1. Sorry I hope you are right as for me I don’t see it.

  2. Well it can’t be any worse than it was. I’ve never seen a West Ham team with such a lack of organisation and passion as the one we’ve seen of late so he’ll be an improvement for sure……

  3. Maybe Psycho is a genuine motivator, off the field, although he is probably an ‘east-end muscler’ as well!!
However, it is important to have motivators on the field.
I see the following players as either direct motivators or indirect motivators.
Reid, Zabaleta, and Noble (when he is playing) are direct motivators by their comments.
Guys like Lanzini, Antonio, Kouyate, are motivators via their actions.
In terms of GK’s, I think, despite differences in language, Adrian does more to spur his players on than Joe Hart.

two important additions would help our play- the presence of a couple of ‘on-field musclers’. We could find one in the potential signing of William Carvalho, from Sporting Lisbon, assuming the ‘Brothers’ can do the deal; then we need someone like Lukaku, who would run over his grand-mother to get a shot on goal. These sort of guys (at the front) are hard to find .
