  1. Cor what a freezing night, just got home and gradually thawing my extremities out (cue rude joke) I think Shrewsbury are the worst team I have seen us play in a long time, they were hopeless I even said to the guy next to me whenever they go through on goal I am not even remotely nervous they couldn’t hit a barn door, I was seriously worried when it looked like it would go to penalties because we didn’t look any better in front of goal did we ? Could have been 0 0 after about 30 penalties the way we looked. If Sullivan and Gold don’t buy a couple of players in midfield that can win the ball and create we could easilly get sucked back down into the mire if things turn against us. On the plus points Ogbonna was easilly man of the match, when rnautovic came on Martinez was much more of a threat, on the negatives goal aside Reece Burke needs more experience get the window out the way and let him go back to Bolton he will learn much more there this season than warming the bench as will Cullen who did a lot of good but needs more game time at Championship level, as for Joe Hart’s distribution his first completed pass was a miskick in the second half to Noble, he kept lumping it long to Ayew one of the shortest players on the pitch, he had a night to forget too. Very happy though to scrape through, we haven’t had much luck and it was lucky we faced an abjectly awful team with woeful finishers and a lack of pace hopefully we will gradually improve with the ball onwards and upwards COYI !!!

    • Agree about Arnie & Toni bc Toni needs service & fans are giving him stick from first start.
But he did some lovely footwork w defenders on him to set Burke up in box for winning goal.
So an assist on your debut isn’t bad. Lanzini & Arnie Ayew weren’t scoring.
I think Toni did well & Cullen again too .
      .

All these fans slagging on Toni when CF is probably hardest position to adapt too especially without service.

Tho I think a loan deal for Toni would be best bc Moyes won’t give him game time & Nuno did still want him at Wolves & that have creators he could do very well there.

And CF we buy we still need more creativity in our team especially playing back 2 we don’t have creative mids & our WBs aren’t very creative 1 assist btwn them not counting Byram yet.

  2. Cold ain’t the word 32 ? Fekin freezing ! Jesus , brass monkeys or what lol!
+1 , thought Martinez knocked his tabs out tonight on scraps really ! Kept looking to be played in but nobody seemed aware of his runs ! He played on their shoulder all night vwhich always kept em buisy ? Ayew was awfull , brings nothing and goes off the field with half the pitch on his ass !good to see Martinez set up Burke with a well won ball and intelligence to play the ball over his nut ! Very good defensive unit but carried nothing going forward and clearly came for a draw ! Job done .😉 oxford very nervous ! Not very confident ! He’s much better than that ! Byrum was a injury waiting to happen , played to long , only just back and IMO not being looked after , not match fit and a cold night , should have come off on the hour! 😕

    • +1 if not for Toni we go to PENs he set that cross just right with defenders on him keeping ball in air saw Burke in box & got it to him & he finished w no hesitation.
Ayew offered nothing so hard w him sometimes he scores & plays abut what is his postioon.
Moyes doesn’t seem to Fancy Tonj yet so think loan prob be best to get game time & wolves have creators.
I hate fans saying he was bad & they just hears prob commentary on radio. He was good for his first debut & wouldn’t of won if not for him but he is a CF who CF who thrives on service & got none unfortunately missed that first chance but CF is hardest spot to slot in & gel into.
Wanted to see Sameulsen play who links with him well & is a game chnager. Like to see more of him still only 20. He speareheaded Peterborough’s FA cup run at 18.

Hopefully we bring in some creativity.
Arsenal want Wilshere to take pay cut so why jot bid for him & pay is £110k sell Ayew & AC & bring in Smolov

  3. Could hardly walk when I left the ground, my legs were almost frozen solid!! Good to see Martinez make his full debut, thought he did quite well against a team who came to spoil anything we attempted. Burke also looked useful, whilst Oxford needs more game-time, and nearly gave them a goal (good stop from Hart, that). Worst players on the pitch; Agnew & Masuaku, one a headless chicken, the other couldn’t cross a ball to save his life.
