Moyes reveals the massive survival factors

|

Manager David Moyes insists that the fans have a massive role to play in getting the Irons over the survival line.

And he believes tomorrow’s (Sun) game at Chelsea is one from which we really need to get something claiming that 40 points remains his base line.

Commenting on the crucial factor of the club still having it’s fate in it’s own hands he said: “It’s massively important because we want to be the ones to win the games and get us over the line.

Don’t get me wrong, every manager at the bottom of the league will be looking at everyone’s results. We’re no different. We know if we can win our games, I’m hoping our home games, where the crowd have been important, the crowd can help us get over the line.

I’m always basing myself on 40 points is where you need to get to. It’s really difficult to work out what the points tally will be this year.

Hopefully it might not take as much as that. But if I’m thinking it’s going to take 40 points for me, it’s a long way to go for the teams that are below us. We’ve got to keep our minds focused on winning and trying to get another seven or eight points between now and the end of the season.”

We’ll be keeping our focus (at Chelsea) as we’ve not got enough points to be safe yet. We have to pick up more. The next game is Chelsea and we have to something against them to try and pick up the points.”
