Moyes speaks to press ahead of Chelsea

Moyes5David Moyes has hosted his pre-match press conference at Rush Green this afternoon.

On injuries “It’s looking much better. We’ve got a whole host of players back training and it’s good to get them back. Chicharito is one of those who is back training.

On team selection including whether Hart or Adrian would start  “I wouldn’t give the team out as I don’t want to help Chelsea. I have got the decision in my mind but I’ll keep it to myself. I’d always try to speak to the players. There are some occasions when I do and others when I don’t need to.”

On Noble “Mark is influential and great around the club but he’s not guaranteed a place in the team. Nobody is. I’m going to pick the players who are in form.”
On a run of 8 games without a win  “I’m very confident we have a good squad and group of players, but we have to make sure we win games, though. Ultimately, we need to get results. I think the players know what’s at stake and know we will give them every opportunity, but they have to show when they get the chance, or we will use other people.”
On Declan Rice: “I thought Declan did well last week. Playing a young centre-half is more difficult than playing as a young goalkeeper, because he’s 18 and up against strikers with top quality. At City, in the second half it was Aguero and Jesus and that’s some task. I said to him it’s a good sign if you’re not noticed as a centre-half as it means you’re doing a good job. That second goal he could have done better, with his concentration, and I said that to him and he knows that. Declan is the one who is looking like he could force his way into the first team, but he’s been off for three days with the flu this week, so he’s a bit doubtful.Overall, his performance last week was good.”
On tomorrow’s game “I want to try to give Chelsea problems if i can, but I need to be aware of the threat Fabregas, Hazard, Morata and others too.”
On transfer rumours  “There seems to be a lot of names being banded about at the moment, but I’ve not had any involvement in it at the moment but I will do over the coming weeks. Maybe Tony Henry and the Chairman are talking to some people, but I have no idea about that at the moment.

  1. Get in there , Moyes . Good stuff . Don’t give them rentboys a sniff . Getting one over Chelski is more important than getting one over Tottenham imo . It’s Chelski we like the least in all honesty . Tottenham is Bitter / Sweet rivalry but , Chelski are our real enemies .
Don’t know the time limit allowed to announce the starting 11 ,,,, can somebody enlighten me ?? .

  2. One hour before ko!!😉
So Moyes doesn’t know who sully and henry are talking to? Strange one that IMO ! Sully just said the manager wanted and he got ? But sully and henry are looking anyway ! But Moyes will be involved in the next couple of weeks ? Lost me !!! Something terribly wrong in this club with transfers etc , 😕
