Nolan injury may be “serious”

Kevin-NolanKevin Nolan will know early this week whether he faces surgery on a shoulder injury he picked up in training on Thursday.

ClaretandHugh was told a few minutes ago that the West Ham skipper will have a second scan on the injury which early indications suggest could be serious.

Nolan is understood to have fell awkwardly in the training  and early signs are that he has suffered a collarbone injury which could involve an eight to 12 week lay-off.

A Hammers training ground source said: “Kev is likely to have a scan tomorrow or Tuesday but early indications are that it’s not good and he may need surgery.

“It’s impossible to know exactly what the injury is but things are not that encouraging and he could be missing for a while yet. At the moment it looks quite serious.”

  1. Despite the many views to the contrary IMO Nolan has been and still is a very good captain for west ham. His leadership alone has been invaluable over the last three years.

However, I think there is wide spread agreement that our skipper was not at his best last season. But I believe that it is a very healthy sign of just how far the club has come that his injury is now being looked apon as a positive rather than the disaster it would have been even fairly recently.

In fact With the exciting attacking options we have brought to the club we are now able to develop and move on to the next level. COYI!

    • I know when my lot heard about Nolan being out for a couple of month’s there was a big cheer.

The only thing he seems to have done for the last year or so is to harass the referees – I think BFS’s hand will be forced to change his approach and he will have to play Zarate, Sakho and Valencia.

  2. Happy hammer . How good was it to see the team start with 11 against palace no no 4. K.rap nolan. ..will enjoy travelling 2 hours to upton park knowing no .4 captain useless will not be playing.. I understand west ham are going to commemorate the injury to nolan with a new board game of “pin the sling on the donkey ” . Dont rush back captain useless have xmas off as usual .great news for many west ham fans enjoy .
