Nolan’s ‘non’ to France

nolanFormer Hammers skipper Kevin Nolan has reportedly turned down the chance to play for French Ligue 1 club Lorient, according to Sky.

Sky claims the midfielder rejected the offer of a contract after two weeks of negotiations. It is believed the move fell through because the 33-year-old did not feel it was right for him or his family.

Nolan continues to train with League Two Leyton Orient – managed by former West Ham coach Ian Hendon although the O’s gaffer admits they can’t afford him unless he played for them for free.

Last week Nathan Blake urged  Cardiff City to sign his old pal Kevin Nolan – before Bolton do.

He said: “He’s a great lad and a top pro. Even as a schoolboy I saw that he always had bags of potential. He was a lovely kid and you could have a good laugh with him.He could take the captaincy at Cardiff and thrive.Imagine the pressure he has been under at West Ham for years. Now he just wants to play.”

“Kevin has earned a lot of money in the game, so to get him, you’ve got to sell what your dream is. Not just that you want to win promotion but how you’re going to do it.If the opportunity was there, go and sign him.”

Last week  Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon claimed Kevin Nolan was unlikely to return to them.

  1. Good job he didnt go to France, someone could have mistaken him for a snail & tried eating him 😉

  2. He is still sitting tight waiting for Advocaat to go at Sunderland, then he will be off to rejoin Samuel Hippodyce!

  3. He should have taken it,it’s a lot nearer than Latvia or Norway
I think he will keep himself fit take his coaching classes and quit playing,
Hope him all the best as long as it’s a long way from us,
