Not guilty plea from Hammers

West Ham have NOT made a £27m bid for Nice striker Alassane Plea.

Sky Sports claimed that the Hammers had lodged a formal bid while they added that Newcastle, Fulham and Spurs are also all on the hunt for the services of the 25-year-old French forward, who scored 20 goals last season. It is understood the French club want 30m euros (£26.6m) with one other club having already made an offer of £25m. Plea began his career at Lyon before moving to Nice in August 2014 for 500,000 Euros.

West Ham have been linked with Plea since March this year after David Moyes when L’Equipe ran an article linking the Hammers with the young striker, however, club insiders insist that a striker is not the main priority under Manuel Pellegrini as it stands and a current striker would need to leave for that to change. Pellegrini and new director of football Mario Husillos have their own targets.

  1. Shame he looks like a proper player, if we are too lose Arnie I would sign him and Balotelli for a very potent attack.

  2. lose arnie? who says? surely not.

    • Just speculation Mooro, he is our best player, the manager has said he wants to bring in 3 – 5 players, unless many are freebies the money has to come from somewhere, clubs when they have sold their best player often keep it quiet until they have bought the replacements and we don’t have funds for 3 – 5 players within the FFP rules. I hope we haven’t but can’t see how we are to buy those players with DS as our chairman.

  3. A couple of loans might be in order but they’ll be murders if they give Arnie the dingers.

  4. Yeah, I thought it was too good to be true
