Obiang gives his form answer

obiang1Straight talking Pedro Obiang reckons it’s time for the team  to make its own luck.

The midfielder looks a certain starter this evening at Palace says: “The season is very long, we know that, and I would use the word ‘tough’ to describe it so far, but we have a good team and the club has taken massive steps forward with the new stadium and training ground.

“I don’t think everyone has got used to it just yet, from the fans to the players to the club as a whole, but we’re working out the way to get results and move forward.”

Obiang reckons though that fortune rather than a change of venue has played a bigger part in the team’s results saying: “I think we’ve been unlucky with the results we’ve had so far.

“Last season, we were playing at a stadium with a lot of history and the fans and the players were united, and the new players all settled in, but now we’ve got the task of writing a new history for the club in this new Stadium.

“We need to make our own luck, which is what we did last year. We need to do the same things we did and if we can get a couple of wins then that will help our confidence and us to move up the table.”

“Not all stories have a happy beginning, so we’ve got to make sure this season has a happy ending, like a fairytale!”

  1. This man is an example of how to behave in a team: he never complains about anything, he’s humble and when he plays he’s one of the best on the pitch. I like him, he’s one of the strengths of WH imho. 😉

    • Also totally agree Matte, although relatively early days hope he goes on to be one of our greatest, keep up the good work Pedro COYI!!!

  2. Totally agree, Matte. I really hope he can get several matches now and finally establish himself as the starting 11 man I think he should. It would strengthen us both defensively and offensively. I especially like how he always is looking for a pass up the field to get us going.
