Olympic Stadium Picture Special

These photos show how the former Olympic Stadium is looking this week as it prepares for its first major event of the year when AC/DC play there next Saturday. Obviously the seating remains in athletics mode so the seats have yet to be pushed forward towards the pitch, which will not happen until 25th July at the earliest ready for the handover to West Ham on 1st August. A new running track has been installed which remains red rather than the rumoured change to blue, and there is also a brand new Desso Grassmaster pitch laid, although the grass has yet to properly grow.

The last photo with the restricted view is at the very back of the new West Stand next to the control room. Although this is a real seat it is very unlikely it has been has been sold to a season ticket holder and doubtful it will ever go on sale.
