I was about to turn the laptop off a few seconds ago – it’s been a long and very hot day and a bit of Sherlock catch up on Netflix seemed like a good idea.
Then I made the mistake of taking a quick look at NewsNow/West Ham and saw us being linked with a full back, read of Sampdoria’s interest in Pedro Obiang AGAIN and various other rumours which frankly aren’t worthy even of the word.
So as it’s Friday night and the end of a long old week in the heat let’s just get things straight in our heads.
Between now and the transfer deadline day prepare yourselves to see the club linked with any amount of names regardless of position.
BUt its only when you see West Ham and a striker target mentioned that you need get excited because thus far the boss has bought a keeper, three defenders and three midfielders.
We don’t need anymore in any of those departures but CandH has had it confirmed as reported earlier that a back-up striker is now very much on the agenda.
I’d like to say I’m shocked when we are linked to players with whom we clearly hold no interest given we have bought in those positions but I’m not.
At this time of the summer any old story will do because there are media outlets around who adopt the attitude: “Give them what they want and expect.”
Don’t swallow it – we need a striker – that’s it.

Well if its ok by you I will cling on to the chance to sign Laxalt Hugh, we have mystic Huggill asa back up striker, he even has the advantage with his mystic skills of being able to inform Pellegrini in advance if he is going to play well and help us to a win !!!
Sod’s law the message will get out that West Ham are desperate to sign a striker and you just know we’re now going to be linked with every striker in the known universe.

My West Brom mates here in the Midlands desperately want to get rid of Rondon. I get nervous when I see him linked to us. Are there any decent strikers we’d like in particular; pref. with prem experience?
