Optimistic Hammers Javier Hernandez update

HernandezWest Ham have a “good” chance of signing Javier Hernández from  Bayer Leverkusen!

However, despite suggestions on Twitter the deal was hours away ClaretandHugh’s senior source revealed it could take some days to conclude.

Speaking to us this afternoon – in response to reports by an Italian journalist that the Hammers were just hours away from a signature – our source said: “Yes, we have a good chance but DAYS at best.”

Yesterday we revealed West Ham are still deeply involved in trying to bring Javier Hernandez to the London Stadium and that hopes were now high that the signing virtually every fan is hoping for will happen.

We understand that both the club and player are being creative in meeting the former Manchester United striker’s reported  £145,000 reported ambitions.

  1. To be fair 145k is a lot.
And a lot more than our other players are on.
Fingers crossed it is spread out with bonus’ as I would hate for other players to feel rubbish about it and end up going elsewhere

    • It is supposed to be set up with lower salary and other in Bonuses and Performance based. Whichn im fine if he gets us 15 goals.
No different than Payet he made £125k in 2nd season and 2 £1m bonuses and that was his bad half season. And Squad didn’t care until he started being a right Pric and not trying and pushing for move and not training etc.

  2. Not for me, no lessons learned from last summer, not good enough to move us into top 6. And we are paying him 140K a week. I like the Joe Hart signing and the Zabaletta signing but if we are supposed to be buying quality to move us into top 6, well this signing will be proven to be a failure. He was sold by Man Utd because he was not good enough to keep them in top 6, and now we are paying him this sort of money – why cant we look outside the box and buy an up and coming young proven striker in another league rather than buy a journey man looking for a last big pay day.

    • well, if you’re against it, i LOVE it.

    • I would like that too Johnham but Bilic is against it to scared to take a chance on other league players doesn’t have the backbone. Didn’t even want Kelechi and board are same they want names that why Hart.
I would love someone like Babacar who is 6’3″ at 24 plays for Foirintinia finished 8th in Ligue 1 has 51 goals and 15 assists in 133 apps. Has pace for a big lad lean as well. Would love to see u who for him. Sahko was what £3m and was good but injuries. Also like Keita Balde who scores 16 goals and 3 assits for Lazio at 22 in 31 apps only 21 starts. LW but two footed and can cover anywhere up front. Being two footed cauaea defence Havocs. He could go to Inter tho saw today.
But Bilic doesn’t even play anyone under 23 in league and Many is our youngest player with Byram I think at 25(Manu is could still be 24 but going on 25)
But I like Chicarito he scores goals adds pace and play up front alone for Mexico scores 48 in 96 for them as highest scorer and knows English well.
I like Lucas Perez who in little time impressed with 7 goals and 8 assists in 11 starts and lil over 20 apps. He is more all around nor fast. But can hold up play, score and link up to create. At £12m could GWR him and Chicarito for leas than Stoke want for Marko. Who is moving for money as well for him and brother/agent

    • The problem is that the top 4 can pay that wage easily and have him as a squad player. So now his agent knows the Premiership will pay that money it’s either pay or he will go to another club as a squad player.
I agree with you , he is over priced regarding wages but the buy clause at 13 million is at least 12 million under his value So:)

  3. Sorry for long post but if still planning on 2 strikers as promised think Pereez and Chicharito for £25m is deal and Compliant eqxh other with different styles. Would love to find gems but they don’t seem slightly interested in that. Have seen Munir Haddidi linked 22 winger can okay any where up front. And since Jack U-16s takeover signed Alese who was wanted By Man City and Liverpool so gives hope ton our Academy which Sullivan said the Academy days are over

  4. If the other rumour is true that the Spuds are sniffing about seeing how things develop could change the headline to cautiously optimistic, their pay structure is not dissimilar to ours so perhaps we will squeeze this one through.

  5. Lol you always do the business Johnham.Hernandez is a journeyman is he 😂😂😂
