Ordering FA Cup replay tickets? Don’t use mobiles

queueClaretandHugh has been monitoring responses from season ticket holders attempting to order their tickets for the FA Cup replay between the Irons and Manchester United on April 6 in a bid to take the pain out of the operation for those who haven’t yet received theirs.

Some have been having a hard time getting hold of them whilst others have found it a pretty simple operation.

Co chairman David Gold – in an exclusive comment to CandH at the weekend advised fans not to use their mobile phones when ordering.

He also explained that the club was aware of the website difficulties and that this would be improved dramatically when the club arrives at its new Olympic Stadium home.

He said: “I would ask the fans to be patient and bear with us in the meantime.”

CandH strongly advises that if you are still trying to get your tickets follow DG’s advice and use the landline to avoid inflated mobile bills.

Here’s what some of the CandH FB members and season ticket holders reported:

Gary Hughes: “Finally managed to purchase a ticket from the website after 3 and a half hours of persevering.”

Marion Boswell: “Got through on the website Saturday, took a while but once through process was easy.”

Alastair McKay`Site keeps asking me to log in, even though I am already logged in. Won’t let me buy.

Leslie HarrodAwful. Went online under tickets to buy in the usual way but the game is not even listed. Eventually found a link under the post dated around 19th March which gave out the replay date and that was the only way I could get to do so. I actually did this around 1.30 AM and even then it was slow.

John BorehamVery easy. Did it online about midnight on sat. It was very easy.

David HarrisonGot it, but had no notification from the club which, being a season ticket holder, means there wasn’t a lot left today.

Matt Bush: 3 hours 15 minutes on hold. Got to number 1 in the queue. Then was cut off. Mobile bill was £41.90

Mark Watson: Saw a comment on your site on Sat evening about the problems, so booked my two usual season ticket seats about 10:30pm (just before MOTD!!). No problems logging in or booking, did in about 5 mins….sorry a lot of others are experiencing problems

  1. “He also explained that the club was aware of the website difficulties and that this would be improved dramatically when the club arrives at its new Olympic Stadium home.” Sorry but is this day and age it’s simply not good enough.

And the Club upgraded the online box office in October last year, so why couldn’t they have got it right then???

  2. The ticket office is P*SS POOR.Its the one thing I will be glad to see the back of when we move.Always found Ticketmaster to be spot on apart from their friggin extra fees they lump on.But I’m hoping a new set up at the OS alongside Ticketmaster will make everything a damn sight easier.

  3. I’ve now received an e mail from the club telling me that the date for the replay has not yet been confirmed! What on earth is going on there?
