Owners delay ‘friendly’ decision

David Gold and David Sullivan’s presence in the London Stadium director’s box for the Southampton game is today being confirmed by the London Evening Standard.

But a report in London’s evening newspaper adds that they have yet to make up their minds about attending a game at Dagenham and Redbridge on Wednesday.

ClaretandHugh revealed yesterday the pair were now odds on to reman in position for the Saints game and the standard reports: ‘The co-chairmen, who have been heavily criticised for a lack of investment in the squad by supporters, many of whom are not happy with the club’s new home, have no intention at this stage, of staying away from the Southampton match and feel strongly they should be in their usual positions for the match.’

It adds: ‘However, they have yet to decide whether they will attend West Ham’s friendly at Dagenham and Redbridge on Wednesday — the club’s first match since the trouble against Burnley nine days ago.
