Pardew admits his Hammers hope

Alan_Pardewctrue-faithdotcodotukAlan Pardew has revealed that he would have taken the Hammers job had it been offered to him.

The former boss believes David Moyes has landed a good job and reckons he will do a good job but would clearly have liked a second shot at the position himself.

Asked on Sky Sports how he would have reacted to an offer, he said: “Yeah I would have taken it.

“It was a job where you know you could tell it was a good board and good players and in a position where they are under performing and as a manager that really helps when you go in because you can then make an instant impact.

“I think David [Moyes] has got a good job here and I think he will do well.”

Pardew has also been impressed by the new manager’s approach to management at the LS having brought in double training sessions and spoken publicly of the need to increase players’ fitness.

He added: “Sometimes think as a manager that when you put extra workload you’ll have half the group think “we needed that and we wanted that” and half will go ‘ooooh, we’re doing too much’.

  1. phew that was close ! !

    • lol Sleeps, Pardew had a nickname called Sleeps when he was at the club, Sleepswiththeplayersgirlfriends I think it was.

      • I did hear that rumor lol. I always wondered if it was true.
He didn’t do too bad for us 12 years ago, but his record since has been one of disaster after disaster. I suppose his conquests were all in bed.

        • It was all going well until if the rumours are correct 😜 I actually think as a coach he was pretty decent, he worked miracles at Newcastle with no money but wasn’t so good back at Palace. I think Moyes will steady the ship but it might take a few months or even be next season when we really see the benefits. He has to put some steel into the team, I know you like Noble but I would rather see Rice he looks like a young leader, sweep the old guard away if needed let the Fernandes/Rice form a partnership allow them to make mistakes but learn from them, give them a run and support we can’t get much worse, we are not favourites in any of the next 6 games so gamble a bit on energy from younger legs and youthful enthusiasm play Masuaku in front of Cresswell and get them overlapping and covering each other, likewise Antonio And Zab.

  2. Should have been number one choice imo . Nothing else to say , except we have who we have . Premiership Survival is our only aim this season . Sad Club .

  3. I liked Pardew and think he would’ve done a good job for us. Perhaps one day he’ll get another chance, but in the meantime, I will be getting behind our new management team and hoping that with another few games, they’ll work out how to make the boys tick – including binning some of those who don’t seem bothered.

  4. Spot on , Mr Buddy , . Pardew was doing a great job at West Ham untill Tevez & Machiano arrived . ( not sure if I spelt that right ) but you know who I mean . He ( Pardew ) took the blame for dressing room unrest . I have never been , nor ever shall be a Tevez Fan . Scored one important goal , not a lot else .
Would have preferred Pardew personally ; but this board is more than a bit arrogant .
After a short contract , whilst hoping we can escape the Relegation Zone with Moyes and hopefully get a March on I would love to see Pardew return to West Ham .
Mind you an English speaking ( albeit Scottish ) Manager is always helpful .
All the foreign managers have the same English tutoring ;;; in this moment , is Thier collective phrase . How are they communicating with the players ??? .
