Manuel Pellegrini has finalised his defensive reinforcement plans and has decided that Aaron Creswell has a big part to play in his plans this season.
The left back was thought by some to be uncertain with the arrival of the new boss but ClaretandHugh has learned that the former Hammer of the Year is the No 1 choice on the left side of defence.
And Arthur Masuaku is also safe with the boss reported to have been pleased with what he has seen of the left sided midfielder during the build- up to the season so far.
With the squad now looking deeper than it has for many years Cresswell will want to return form injury as quickly as possible having missed the opening near training games against Winteruhr and Wycombe Wanderers.
There has been speculation that the left back may be allowed to move on if a decent bid came in but the manager clearly has him very much in his plans.
Well, we’ve git to keep someone we already know! The first game of the season is going to be soooooo confusing!
Wrong for me personally cresswell is a crap left back at defending and now useless going forward sell him asp also masu not good at defending but great going forward much better technically than cress but keep
If someone offered in excess of 15m I would bite their hand off – I think we can do better.
Cresswell is quality and luckily the Boss knows it ( just as Moyes knew it ). It doesn’t take much working out.
having said that, we do need someone to keep him on his toes.
Cresswell is a championship player, had a good first season trying to impress but never showed anything like his best especially after long term injury, to be good in the prem you have to sustain form, anyone who thinks Cresswell is good enough for this league doesn’t know that you cant moan when you finish in the bottom third. not good enough sell and move on.
