Pellegrini’s new look team

The signing of Felipe Anderson and Fabian Balbuena brings the total number of summer signings under Manuel Pellegrini to seven with Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmelenko already in the Hammers squad.

We could be looking at an unrecognisable lineup when we face Liverpool on Sunday 12th August.

Pellegrini is known to favor a 4-2-3-1  formation although he also plays 4-4-2 as well.

Using all seven new signings in a lineup as criteria this is my personal take on what a Manuel Pellegrini lineup could look like come August. I know everyone will have their views on this and if you want to make your own predicted lineup using all seven new signings please leave a comment below with your team.

Without a doubt, exciting times are ahead and I can’t wait for the Premier League season to get started now.

This time next year we will be top six! as DelBoy would say 😉  Haha

  1. agree with most of that team but don’t see the need for Hernandes.

    Fabianski
    fredericks Balbuena Diop Cresswell
    Rice Noble
    Yarmolenko Wilshere Anderson
    Arnie

    • Noble is bit too slow for me in a Pellegrini team

      • It’s only that second Midfield slot that appears to be the missing part of the jigsaw at the moment. We need a strong quick box to box ball winner in there ( aka Koyoute!! When he played well for us) I hope Cresswell can recreate his earlier form at leftback for us too

      • Some call it slow; I call it composure Sean lol.
With all these new players I’d like to see a tried and tested captain to hold it all together for the first few games.

  2. Two Englishmen!

  3. I just cracked a fat!
    COYI ⚒️⚒️⚒️

  4. Wilshere and Noble cannot be in the same team – both have absolutely no pace. I am not a fan of Wilshere but for me it is either Noble or Wilshere in the team. I also believe Fredericks is not a full back in a 4-4-2 system. My team would be Adrian/Fabianski, Zaba, Balbuena, Diop, Masauka, Obiang, Wilshere/Noble, Antonio, Anderson, Yarmolenko, Arnie. I still believe we need a CM and another forward player.

  5. Noble will be more than capable with all that pace and movement around him, imo.

  6. I go along with a midfielder instead of Hernandez if we are playing a strong opponent.
That midfielder needs ‘ legs’ so either another new boy or one of Kouyaté /Obiang/Fenandes if they survive the cull.

  7. Agree with you Sean. For me Wilshire was always gonna be great creating from a deeper role with Rice doing a kind of Obiang job of tidying up and protecting the back 4. Balbuena looks a beast by the way. Looks like we finally have 2 powerful imposing CBs who have both captained their previous teams from the back.

  8. Same as sleeps apart from Ogbonna instead of balbuena, and koyoute instead of noble

  9. Exactly that as a team is perfect based on how we are – Cresswell/AM is a bit 50/50 imo. If we bought another DM/CM then maybe as the Sleeps guy suggests but without Noble. Only rose tinted views would include Noble, he doesn’t have the legs or quality for the way the game has evolved more recently – he has the heart and should be on bench and remain club captain though.

  10. Hope we sign balotelli! And I agree with the need of a midfielder

  11. Need a true holding midfielder in place of Rice. He is clearly a centre half and should not be confused as Oxford was by being something else. If that means he has to bide his time and learn from others so be it, but I am sure Pelle will give him a fair chance to prove himself.

  12. adrian in goal, ogbonna and diop centrebacks, pacy wingbacks, masuaku and fredericks. rice or oxford protecting the back four as defensive mid. wilshere and noble controlling the play and keeping possession in the middle of the park. anderson and yarmolenko on either wing. arnie up top. anderson, yarmolenko, and arnie are all fluid and interchangeable and can rotate positions during the game, keeps the opposition guessing and ultimately, not knowing whats hit them. chicherito, cresswell, antonio, balbuena, holland, on the bench.

  13. when we finally sign hans anderson and rocky balbuena then maybe a couple of loan signings to replace carroll and reid, i will say weve had the best transfer window in my life time.

  14. £7 million wasn’t spent on Fabianski for him not to be No1, so he will start for me and there is absolutely no place for Noble in this team I’m afraid, he would slow things down way too much.Wilshere is a starter, he wouldn’t have come otherwise. Would like to see a good CDM and think we need additional support upfront but that looks a beast of a team Sean!!

  15. I’d like to see west ham buy lotus-cheek he’d be a good central midfielder with Dec rice next to him

  16. It’s all speculation at the moment on how Pellegrini will start the season and the style he is preparing to adopt . Can’t see a reason for omitting Adrian or Noble . Hernandez as a lone striker makes no sense . It’s as if we claim to know these players , which obviously , we don’t . Naturally we are getting excited with this unprecedented summer transfer window .
But hold onto your horses ,,,, through many years of expectancy I have learned to be calm and realistic . We won’t be a big successful club untill it all clicks …. maybe now and hopefully now it will .
