Poll: Should West Ham pay any player £200,000 per week?

|

Manuel Pellegrini is keen to sign a top class name to West Ham and the player he is particularly keen to get into the club is Paris St Germain’s Javier Pastore.

The Argentinian, however, is currently reported to be earning around £190-£200k a week which is as much and more as most players involved in the Premier League.

So Claret and Hugh’s poll tonight requires a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ as the manager, Director of Football and board tussle with the issue of signing a player on those terms from a club which is famous for paying well over the top wages in most cases.

We want to know whether Hammers fans believe the club should pay that sort of money to Javier Pastore or any player given the issues that could be involved in the dressing room and the Financial Fair Play regulations.

Not any player but one where it makes financial sense to do so I would have no objection to it.

200k is too much probably. Too big a jump in our pay structure. However I would condone 150k a week for a top player.
I don’t get the thing about disharmony in the camp if one player is on more than another. Surely average players can accept that a world class player should be paid more or do they think they are better than they really are? Having said I would only pay 150k though, it All really comes down to what the budget is. as a rule, theoretically I would prefer one world class player on 200k than two good quality players on 100k each. That’s because world class players are often the game changers, the ones that really make the difference. If for instance you offered me one player like dmitri payet for 200k or two players like say Kouyate plus Obiang for 100k each. I would take the one player like payet. It’s always the world class players that makes the real difference in teams. The players that people talk about. Last year Salah at Liverpool, debrugne at city etc etc.
