Positive Gold: “Beating Spurs won’t be a miracle”

David Gold believes the Irons have every chance of getting a result against Spurs on Saturday insisting that he approaches every game with great hope because we have a very good squad.

Gold watched what he described as a thoroughly competent performance against Bolton Wanderers – a game which gave the Irons their third clean sheet on the trot.

Speaking exclusively to CandH he said: “It was a totally commanding performance and the youngsters who took part – Declan Rice, Quina, Nathan Holland and Seaed Haksabanavich all looked good and in no way out of place.

“There’s a lot to be encouraged about and we go into the Spurs game which comes after we haven’t conceded in three which is a good place to be.

Spurs haven’t been at their absolute best this season and we are not in a place where anyone would see it as a miracle if we beat them. We are hopeful because we have a very good squad. I’m looking forward to it.”
