Report: Fletcher gets under-21 run-out

FletcherDarren Fletcher is reported as being likely to appear for Manchester United under-21s against Liverpool tonight.

And according to the Manchester Evening News that ” could signal the ending” of the for the club’s longest-serving player’s career at the club.

He is considering his future and the paper claims we are seeking permission to speak with the 30 year old who was on the bench for the 0-0 draw against Cambridge United on Friday.

But it raises the question as to why Sam Allardyce claimed last week that West Ham would not wait forever for a response from him when we apparently haven’t yet spoken to him face to face!

The Manchester Evening News says: “Fletcher has started just twice since August and on both occasions it showed. He was substituted at the interval of United’s draw at Aston Villa just before Christmas and struggled at Yeovil.

The Scot is believed to have delayed making a decision on his future until this week and a successful audition against Liverpool’s second string could hasten his exit.
