Report: Irons eye Barca midfielder

West Ham are being linked with Barcelona’s Brazilian midfielder Rafinha in some European media outlets this morning.

The twice capped international midfielder played 17 games on loan with Inter last season in a deal which included an option to buy at around £35 million.

He played 17 times for the Serie A outfit in the second half of the season scoring twice along the way.

However, it may be as well to treat the report with some scepticism as the main details of West Ham’s interest appears in the daily Catalan paper the Sport, which is a tabloid with a reputation for getting as much right as it does wrong.

And with negotiations continuing for Felipe Anderson with figures of around £30 million being thrown around and a central defender needed this one looks a long shot.

Inter reportedly remain in the race plan to open negotiations with Barca but Rafinha apparently is in no hurry to make a decision on his future.
