Sam aiming to secure survival bonus

AllardyceSam Allardyce has three games  to secure a personal Hammers survival bonus which ClaretandHugh believes to be in the region of £500,000.

We have revealed on this site that – amid growing unrest among the fans -t the manager may be on thin ice should he lose the final three games of the season which would take his run of defeats to six.

But sources have told us exclusively that there is a huge financial incentive for the manager to ‘get safe’ and that comes in the shape of a huge survival bonus.

We have also been informed that – although the figures are unknown – the manager may also be on a percentage of the Sky TV payments based on our finishing position.

Our source told us exclusively: “Sam is on a very good contract indeed which I understand includes a half a million pound survival bonus plus a share of the final position payments.”

The manager is understood to be on personal terms of around £50,000 a week which means he is picking up an annual salary of £2.4 million annually.

Should the club decide that they need to change direction they would need to pay that plus bonus clauses in compensation.
