Big Sam faces the bucket

sam2Sam Allardyce and Carlton Cole show their are both good sports by taking the ALS Ice bucket challenge following Ravel Morrison’s challenge to them yesterday. When Sam was asked whether he was aware of the  nomination this morning at a press conference he answered with a smile “Yes and Ravel is doing extra training.” but confirmed he accepted teh challenge saying “”Yes I will be doing it.”  Big Sam himself nominated assistant manager Neil McDonald and Jack Sullivan son of club chairman David Sullivan.

The viral internet campaign of  having a bucket of ice water thrown over you is to raise awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) which is the umbrella term used in the US to describe what we in the UK call Motor Neurone Disease. A motor neuron is a nerve cell that makes voluntary muscle movements. MND is a disease in which these cells stop working properly. Motor neurone disease (MND) affects a person’s ability to move voluntarily.
