Slav discusses contract position

BilicSlaven Bilic is entirely unfazed by his contractual situation, claiming his only contract with the club is the next two games.

After a poor start to the season speculation has started about if and when he will be offered a new deal but the Croatian is unworried

He insists he is only concentrating on ending his side’s poor run of form against Accrington in the EFL Cup third round tomorrow.

He said:  “I didn’t speak about [the new contract] in March, or April or May. Not publicly, not with the chairman to be fair.

“We never discussed that I have a contract. I am totally focused on training and games. I never like to talk about that.

“I said at the time that my contract is the next couple of games. It was then like that and it is now like that. That’s the way I work.”

  1. It was on here last week that David Sullivan won’t think about a new Contract for Slaven Bilic until next January at the earliest to as Sullivan said ‘prove he’s not a one-Season wonder’ – that makes sense!

The worrying thing is that some clubs are coming out already with the dreaded ‘Vote of Confidence’ – I heard Peter Coates of Stoke poo-pooing the idea that Mark Hughes is under pressure – bad news that!
