Slav hopes Antonio deal is done

antonio2212_726Slaven Bilic was asked by reporters at this morning’s press conference whether a new deal is close for Michail Antonio.

Slav answered: “Antonio was very good for us last season and continued to do well this season, when players are playing like that and at a good age as well they  attract interest from other clubs. That put him in a good position for a new deal and he deserves it. It’s a club decision of course  but from me it has a big time green light to sign a new deal with us. I don’t know all those details about it, I leave it to the chairman but I hope it is close, well I hope it is done but I see no problem there because he is the one that totally deserves it, with his behaviour, with his work rate, with his quality and at the end of the day with his goals and assists he is providing us. ”
The Guardian  have reported that Antonio is set to sign a new long-term contract worth £70,000-a-week, doubling his current wage. The  new five-and-a-half-year deal comes as reward for the Hammer has scored eight Premier League goals so far this season.  A recent table of the world’s most expensive players valued him at £31.8m
