Manager Slaven Bilic is set to name a strong squad for Saturday’s trip to the south coast with Andy Carroll, Robert Snodgrass and Jose Fonte all recovering from minor knocks.
And with Michail Antonio returning from suspension we are looking in very good nick as we look to bounce back from the Chelsea defeat.
Carroll and Snodgrass both needed treatment for cuts during Monday’s 2-1 defeat against Chelsea at London Stadium, while Fonte picked up a slight strain, but all three players completed the full 90 minutes and the Hammers boss is confident of their involvement against the Cherries.
Slav said: “Andy and Robert both had cuts in the Chelsea game. Snodgrass had stitches [in his leg], and Andy in his eyebrow, but they are all right. Andy is fit.
“Fonte also felt something, but we are very optimistic that he is going to be OK for the game on Saturday, so it all looks good.”
All very nice but , I see Bournemouth giving us a very hard game . They haven’t won a game at home so far this year and will be eager to stop the rot . The way we just keep pumping high balls into the box is reminiscent of the Alladyce days . Bournemouth will be more than ready for us . We need more skill on the ground . Summer striker signings are imperative . And a bit of skill in midfield wouldn’t go amiss either . We are just about getting away with it this season . Still a bit surprised at signing Snodgrass to be honest . We need a fit Sacko and the return of Valencia from Everton . Two free signings right there . If we offload Carroll it wouldn’t surprise me ( reckon we should hold onto him ) due to the price of around 30m . Somebody to play alongside Lanzini is what we really need . More pressure up front eases pressure on the back 3 or 4 if we are ever to have a system that works .
We keep throwing away our chances and that was typified by Noble against Chelsea . I understand that maybe he thought to mix it up a bit but , all our players were in the box .
We are lacking that little bit of extra quality on the ground . We haven’t got the quality of say ; Barcelona who can cheat with style and get away with it . We need to play hard and fast and honestly . This season is megga for us and we need to show more ambition in future by trying to get some proper class for a change . (( forget that so-an-so that mustn’t be mentioned )) . Snograss ain’t the answer although, I wish he was .
