Stoke cast eye at Carlton

CarltonCOLEStoke City boss Mark Hughes may make a deadline day move for Carlton Cole after Peter  Odemwingie suffered what’s believed to be a knee ligament injury against Manchester City.

Deadline Day can of course be notoriously misleading but word coming out of Stoke this morning is that Hughes could move for Cole in a deal of around £1.5 million.

Hughes was believed to be looking for a wide player but the Odemwingie injury – which could keep him out for the season – has thrown Cole into the mix.

Cole was linked with a move to Bournemouth last week and was at the centre of some shocking Twitter abuse over the weekend following the game at Southampton.

  1. Don’t do this – you get my hopes up that we can finally get rid of Carlton but it never comes to anything!

I’m willing to put my Mortgage on Carlton not signing for Stoke!
