West Ham are sweating it out on Raul Jimenez getting a work permit ahead of a year-long loan to the club.

ClaretandHugh can categorially confirm the Atletico Madrid and Mexico striker is the man set to join the club – so long  as he meets strict Home Office work permit regulations.

Yesterday a leading Spanish newspaper claimed the deal was done and dusted, and although this has been confirmed by our own insiders at the club, we have been told: “There is no work permit guarantee!”

Boss Slaven Bilic is pushing for things to be accelerated following the news about Valencia’s injury, which prompted the Jimenez deal being agreed.

But we were told this evening: “The player concerned is indeed Jiminez. He would be an expensive season loan, but there is no guarantee he’ll get a work permit.”

Early reports claimed the  agreed to a loan although Atletico asked him whether he wanted to leave for West Ham permanently or with the chance of a return to the Spanish club.

Jimenez is said to be keen on returning to Madrid in the long term, but wants to take an opportunity to impress in the Premier League before returning to his parent club.

  1. He has played enough times for his country and Mexico are in a the top 50 teams in the world so what will hold up the permit,
I know it’s because it’s westham and not Man U or Chelski
How many are we going to have Austin the French lad from PSG,
    Rumours rumours.

  2. By Jimenez! Can he play though?

  3. You should have learnt from experience . The porn twins like the rumors and junior promotes them . They think we are stupid enough to believe they are true and when we are left with the dregs they can say that they tried but players preferred Swansea, Palace, Leicester etc. Buying a couple of very useful prospects is a good start but hopeless without 2 quality strikers .
