Sullivan’s message on CandH ‘Mooro Day’

840291369David Sullivan will be remembering Bobby Moore today as ClaretandHugh honours our greatest legend for the final time to a Boleyn ground background.
It was 23 years ago today that Bobby left us with our glorious memories of his incredible career after a battle against cancer .
And as we celebrate his life, the chairman said: “I’m glad that ClaretandHugh is remembering him in this way – that’s great.
Speaking exclusively to us DS declared: “I always found him very humble and grateful that we’d offered him a nice job when football had turned his back on him.
“He was a genuinely nice person. He lived in the same road as me in Chigwell, but I never met him until he came and worked for Sunday Sport.
“He was such a wonderfully nice and modest man. really the FA and football treated him appallingly, but he wasn’t bitter in any way.
It’s good that we should all remember him today.”

  1. Privileged to have watched the greatest player ever to put on the shirt .
As a kid going into the house shop opposite the ground he always made you feel welcome .my mother took me there one day to buy the IMO the best kit we have ever had ,( the one above ) could never understand why we changed it ( money of course ) he asked me who my favourite player was, to which I replied you and johnny Soissons , so as a gift he gave me 2 6x 5 inch black and white photos off the shelf of him and Soissons and said go homeand pin them on the wall but clear it with mum first rubbed my head and we left.
A real east end mans man. I will never forgive the club and FA for never giving him the recognicion he deserved .

    • It was the club of yester year that need to hang their heads in shame. Since the two D’s took over the club couldn’t be doing anymore. As both are life long hammers they reconise the true value to us, the english game & the world of football. I am not talking in monetary terms. BM is & always will be our greatest icon, known throughout the world. Ask someone in any country to name a true english footballing hero & BM will be the answer nearly every time. Youngters wont go far wrong to use him as a role model.

  2. I’ve still never seen a better center back anywhere in the world.

  3. And you never will fishes !! He was a one off !!! How lucky was we who watched this genius at work !!
