I do not expect a a faultless display with players suddenly released from the miseries of having a sulky prima donna infecting their oxygen.
But from all reports there has been a tension in the camp among some players who believe Payet has been over indulged, and put on a platform which he certainly hasn’t deserved, for a long time.
His decision to remove himself from the team and the club will unquestionably have pleased some of them and ensured that others know they now have to seriously step up to the plate.
There can be no more reliance on a player who for all his magic at times has been ensuring that over several games now we have played with ten men.
Palace are in a desperate position…Allardyce will have studied the entire situation with great care – and all the spite towards Payet and affection for Slav’s position and attitude is behind us for this 90 minutes is all that counts right now.
It will show everybody what this team is all about – the stuff of which they are made. I’m expecting a response which show the players feel the same way as the fans as they demonstrate it’s a case of “Goodbye Dimitri – we’re better off without you.”

Strange rant Kevin.I think that nearly every true football person or pundit in the last few days have said that we should make a stand against his striking & sulking.
It has nothing to do with it being insulting to fans.These players shouldnt be able to push clubs around & the sooner clubs got together to stop it the better.
