ClaretandHugh Facebook member Sergey Novysh hands out his marks on every Iron
Adrian: Few saves, one wonderful double save and one mistake. Not too busy overall, but did really well. 8
Rice: Solid performance, no mistakes at all. 7
Ogbonna: Very good performance, saved Adrian after mistimed run. 8

Cresswell: No silly mistakes defensively,  contribution going forward too. 6
Zabaleta: Played with some energy, did pretty well just like the rest of our backline. 7

Kouyate: Put Pogba in his pocket, won almost all of their duels. Bossed midfield and made numerous interceptions. 8

Noble: Played very well defensively, also produced few really good long-range passes. Yet, his ill discipline in Pogba’s incident could’ve cost us dear. 7
Masuaku: Slow and uninventive today. 5

Joao Mario: To all those who question Marios work rate: watch this game closely again. The guy worked really hard , always tracked back and helped defence, showed some great skills and produced few really good passes going forward. 7

Lanzini: Still not at his best, but another good performance. Holds the ball well and draws fouls when needed. Wasted a good opportunity from free-kick in the dying seconds of the game. 7

Arnautovic: Didn’t have clear cut chances today, but always a threat upfront. 7

SUBS:

Carroll: Showed good link-up play with Arnie going forward, played with desire, never stopped running and pressing. 7
