Tough guy Moyes sends serious warning to Irons squad

smiling moyes

West Ham’s squad learned the truth of what lies in front of the,m this afternoon when hardman David Moyes snapped: ” If they don’t do the running, they’re not playing. “

A very new regime is about to create a few shockwaves among a squad which has looked lethargic and sub standard in the fitness stakes for months.

And there will be no prisoners taken as the Scot demands more and mer this next few wore from the players over this next few weeks.

Discussing his appointment he said: ‘It’s good for me. I’m back in. It’s what I love doing. I wanted to get back. I want to do well. It’s also good for West Ham. They’ve got a good manager.

‘I’ve got a point to prove. Sometimes you have to repair things. Maybe I’ve got a little bit to repair.

I’m taking over a great football club. It used to be one of the most fearsome places to come play football. Going to Upton Park was a really, really tough place to go.

‘I don’t see why it should be any different now (at the London Stadium). This is a squad that shouldn’t be in the position they’re in.’

Then came the warning: ‘There will be no favours. If they don’t do the running, they’re not playing.

‘You see the turnover of managers at the moment. I’m taking over a couple of months into the season and I’m happy to go until the end of the season.

‘I was contacted just after the weekend. I was out in Qatar doing some TV. Was there interest? I said yes very quickly. That was how it started. A couple quick meetings and I found myself here at the start of the weekend.’

  1. So now it’s down to you to make us Fans interested . End of . A good showing against a resurgent Watford would be a great start . It’s a game where we would normally expect to win ,, but given our recent problems we are nervous . Get it sorted David and the the fans might start to get behind you . We are a difficult bunch ,,,,, hope you realize that ,,!!

  2. Well, I’m with him there. How dare any of these prima donnas not be in the peak of physical fitness, considering the money they get paid !

  3. Bout time to it sounds like they have all been re!axing and taking it easy under Slav and that’s his fault for being so soft and really his fault for the position were in ..I know u can’t believe everything in the paper but it sounded like one big holiday wen he took training.. We all knew they wasn’t fit and now its all coming out ..I. Hope it works out with Moyes cuz I’ve a feeling he could actually take us forward…. I’m certain to give him a chance anyway

  4. He is going to wave the big stick. Bilic should have waved the big stick. I don’t believe the training was inferior. Just some of the players were inferior in not doing the training properly. Perhaps fear of the big stick will make them reform. Otherwise kick them into touch.

  5. With you all the way Mr Moyes. But if you want to turn the LS into the Boleyn fortress, you could do worse than moving the feckin seats closer! How else can we get a grip of the opposition?

  6. Drones is the way jimbo ! It will never be as the old girl was mate ! Get used to it ! I fekin hate the place , 😉

  7. Nice……..

    Don’t run – don’t play, don’t train hard – don’t play, don’t try hard – don’t play, – love that.

Hope it livens em all up especially the prima donnas in there, would love to see them under pressure to earn their dough and keep their place. So now he’s waved his big stick.

Nice to hear Stuart Pearce might be on board too……I’m feeling slightly more optimistic slready. Will attend the Watford game for sure let’s hope we can all get behind them and influence a win to get tge ball rolling……
