Training ground buzz is back as Irons get ready

West Ham United TrainingThere’s increasing confidence in the dressing room that the Irons big three will be back in action for the key battle at Anfield this weekend.

Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell, Cheik Kouyate are all making progress and have received  a “better than fifty chance” of making the the squad from our sources.

Both Cressie and Antonio are recovering well groin pulls and Kouyate is believed to be in good shape after taking a knock in training before the Arsenal game.

And training ground sources have told ClaretandHugh that there has been a real “buzz and banter” around Rush Green after the miseries of the Arsenal game.

Whether the manager’s lack of intensity remarks from the manager were designed to publicly point the finger at the squad remains a moot point.

But we were told: “All the sessions have had a buzz, Maybe the manager was involved in some reverse psychology because there’s been a lot of laughter and hard training going on.

That – along with the good news on Michael, Aaron and Cheik is all good – and there’s a lot of confidence returning after the weekend dramas.

  1. i see cresswell, carroll, kouyate and is that burke in the middle?

    not sign of antonio though?

  2. Payet isn’t there either and neither is bilic who said he was going to take more control of training, best is nobes looks like he is running but the old geezer in front of him is walking an nobes still can’t catch him, just saying

  3. I guess we will see on Sunday, maybe it’s just me but I don’t want to hear about happy banter I want to see players running around too tired to talk to each other and growing confidence through very hard structured training rather than being a happy family looking forward to Xmas with lots of laughs and a great buzz… I am starting to sound like Scrooge bah humbug !!!

    • Just read Bilic’s Standard article, he is back pedalling on his intensity statements saying he wasn’t blaming his staff, he wasn’t blaming the players and injuries are a major factor. If you read between the lines you could come to the conclusion that nothing much has changed on the training ground. Sunday will be the start, maybe Bilic is being clever and lowering expectancy fingers crossed the team put in a performance COYI !!!
