West Ham faces Millwall behind closed doors

MillwallThe Under 21 game between West Ham and local rivals Millwall for the Premier League Under 21 Cup is being played behind-closed-doors at Rush Green on police advice.

Only players, staff, parents and press are allowed in to watch the match.

Originally the game had hoped to be played at the Boleyn Ground with up to 10,000 fans expected to pay £10 to watch the two local rivals but Newham police feared trouble so the game was switched to midday and made behind closed doors.

West Ham Team: Howes, Westley, Fanimo, Makasi, Pask, Onariase, Bywater, Marlow, Lletget, Whitehead, Sadlier.

Subs: Nasha, Bogard, Mavila, Gordon, Pike.

Kick Off  was 12pm

UPDATE: After Extra Time the match ended West Ham 1 Millwall 1

Jaanai Gordon scored for West Ham in the 114th minute 2 minutes after Millwall scored.

West ham beat Millwall on penalties 8-7

  1. Don’t know why they made it behind closed doors as we played them in the League Cup in September and I don’t recall seeing any trouble at the game even though we lost on penalties (I think Valencia missed his pen). Don’t really regard them as “rivals” – well not like “S***s”
