West Ham fans agree with Gold on London Stadium

Gold3West Ham supporters agree that the club have turned a corner in their new home and it is starting to feel like home.

Yesterday we ran a story that West Ham joint Chairman David Gold said: “I absolutely agree it feels more like home, especially in recent games”

On the back of Mr Gold’s comments we ran a ClaretandHugh poll and sixty eight per cent of supporters agree with the chairman. With 1,224 voting, 833 fans say the London Stadium is starting to feel like home while 391 disagree accounting for the remaining 32%.

Not everyone agrees that things at the Stratford stadium is improving and one supporter challenged the poll saying  “Maybe you should survey real West Ham fans and then you would get a true perspective”

When asked for a definition of a real West Ham fan the supporter said that they should “Be able to recite word for word our song Over Land and See (OLAS) and to name the 1980 cup winning side”

Sorry but in our book if you love West Ham and spent your time and money following them you are a real Hammer.

  1. liked your answer to the so called REAL fan… Evan Upton Park went quiet if we were playing shxxe.. COYI (a real fan since 1958)

  2. a ‘real’ West Ham fan should be able to recite the words of OLAS & 1980 cup winning team.. what utter bo11ox, Is he really saying that fans under a certain age who won’t know these things aren’t real fans? I didn’t realise there was a application form & exam to qualify for this status.
I’ve been going on & off for the past 40 years through the good & the absolute dire times, whatever standard of football or which division we play in my support has never wavered. I sure as hell don’t need someone else tell me if I am or aren’t a ‘real’ fan. tw@t

  3. What a foolish man.Name and shame him fellas.Im sure we will know who it is lol

  4. It’s utter bollards isn’t it lads? You can have started following West Ham at the beginning of this season and if they are your club then you are a fan and a real one at that. Live in the US or Aus and if your club of choice is West Ham then you are a real fan no question. They are a real fan just like me who happens to begun supporting the hammers in 1967 and have been to more matches than I can remember. People try to make themselves elevated over another fan by wearing some sort of badge of pride it’s pathetic.

  5. It’s the same as those haters who accuse Sullivan (he’s Welsh) and Brady (she’s Arsenal) of not being real fans. It’s cobblers of course they are West Ham through and through just like David Gold is, Gold and Sullivan always have been, and Brady became a fan just over 5 years ago. Only people with tiny brains can’t see that.

  6. I just have to laugh when i read the fans who want to put themselves on a pedestal above other fans.It is almost as bad as fans that write about players or chairmen by telling them to get out of “my” club. That is another joke of a statement.

  7. Yeah or the book keeper who knows more about the clubs finances than the board or the teacher who knows more about tactical decisions and formations than Slaven and the insurance clerk who knows more about which youth players players should get the nod over proven premiership players than Westly or Billic despite never seeing them play. I could go on!!

  8. Absolutely! I’m in my 53rd year and have been a Hammer since I was 6. Last season I only managed to get to the away fixtures at Newcastle and Blackburn (FA Cup). It’s not as simple when youre Scottish, live in Falkirk, and don’t have a season ticket! I’ve managed to make at least one fixture fixture every season since I was 16 so I would consider myself a dyed in the wool Hammer thank you very much!!!!! Funny story, but years ago I got a trip round Upton Park (these were the days of communal baths in the changing rooms) and the guide asked who had travelled the furthest that day. I thought I was onto a winner but there was a party of Norwegians and a group of kids from Chernobyl!

  9. Im ok i went on an intensive OLAS lyrics course today.I can now sing it in English,French,German & Azerbaijani.Thats because im a REAL fan 😂😂

  10. I used to love this site and thought it to be the most up to date trustworthy blog…..
Unfortunately I have to click past about 20 pop up advertisements before reading anything now (some you can’t even get rid of). Sold out…..
    Money money cash cash cash.
Sure you will lose a lot more followers due to this. In the words of Sugar I’m OUT!!
    Real shame. Goodbye.

  11. But you fought your way through all this bombardment of adverts to write that though. Its amazing what people will endure when it comes to the chance to moan in life lol
By the way how much did it cost you to read this article..i will tell you, absolutely nothing because it is the ads that keep it free.Lets make it ad free and charge £200 per annum to subscribe.Would you prefer that lol
