Is it a coincidence that we always play a big side now on the opening day?The PL admitted this year that they basically fiddle the fixtures so none of the big sides start against each other. I realise they have to doctor them a bit to avoid e.g. Four London home games on the same day but it would be nice if otherwise they just let the computer do the job.

Would definitely be better H64 I may be wrong but suspect though its the same in Liverpool and Manchester and other cities where the police will be stretched or feel the need to keep opposing fans apart ?

Yeah think that is right. Especially Liverpool where the grounds are close. Just be nice to have a home game where you have a chance to start the season off. I remember a great game when we came up in 2005 against Blackburn under Hughes. They went won up then we destroyed them & won 3-1. Remember all the idiots on the way out saying ‘We are top of the League’- great stuff. Still maybe we will destroy the Scousers? Half their side will be knackered or depressed after the WC- SAlah Firmino Lovren Henderso Mane …Well we can dream
