West Ham & Hull fans told to allow more time

Westfield1The Met police football unit have warned West Ham and Hull City fans to allow more time for their journeys on Saturday afternoon as emergency gas works continue outside the stadium in the Olympic Park.

The tweet from the Met Police said: “Please note if attending the West Ham v Hull City fixture tomorrow the gas works are still in place”

A page on WHUFC.com from Wednesday says:  “Due to gas main repairs on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the walking route to and from London Stadium over the bridge between the South Lawn and Pool Street will not be available for this match. Spectators are advised to follow the alternative route highlighted in green on this map, the diversion signage on route and instruction of stewards in the area.”

On Wednesday night supporters complained about being routed around in circles after the match ended in an attempt to avoid the gas works.  Many were left bemused and irritated about the route and extra time to leave the London Stadium area.
