West Ham to sign up to five more players

West Ham still plans to buy three to five more players after officially announcing their third signing of the Summer transfer window this morning.
Claret and Hugh have learned this morning there are some doubts whether Alfie Mawson and Felipe Anderson will join West Ham.
But the recruitment team are still working hard on multiple targets following the signing of Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski.
A senior club insider told Claret and Hugh this morning “We have lots of targets that are not on media radar. We expect to buy 3-5 more players this summer”
C&H understand that the manager still wants to prioritise another centre-back, two midfielders and a goalkeeper.
A striker is less of a priority we have been told but has not been ruled out completely.
The Hammers are looking to keep within a net spend of £70m this summer which could also see some outbound players as up to five additional players join the three new recruits.

  1. Will be interested to know who the outbounds are and what real interest there is in them.

    • Antonio will go to Palace think that is one, Adrian may be another if Fabianski is no 1, Kouyate another maybe ?

  2. Reid, Byram, Antonio 23mill

    possibly Ogbonna 15mill

and likely Adrian who doesnt want another season as back-up 3mill ?

which frees up money for Mawson, wilshire, Seri, a back-up keeper and possibly a cheap striker

  3. People with better memories might correct me, but we do seem to be getting more done earlier in the window this year. In the past we have had the odd ‘big’ signing in June, then it is all rumours until a series of loans & last minute deals. So this year it looks better, as long as the activity doesn’t fizzle out. I feel cautious optimism. He needs the bulk of his squad sorted in the next few weeks. We are not going to have many World Cup players, so he can get down to moulding a team- that would be a nice change after last two years. We might even be at a bit of an advantage over big sides who have WC players who are a bit jaded or have had only short breaks.

  4. I would have thought 5 would be a minimum to be competitive in the EPL?

  5. I am pleased to see reference to players who are not on the media radar. Perhaps we’ve finally learned our lesson.
