Westley looks for U23 cheer against Chelsea on Sunday

RiceAcademy boss Terry Westley has told his under 23 squad they all have a chance of forcing their way into the first team with a top performance tomorrow (Sun).

Westley – like everybody else was devastated by the first team’s 3-0 defeat by Brighton – but told the youngsters: “When things like that happen there’s a glimmer of a chance that you could get a call-up for Spurs on Wednesday night.”

The young Hammers are currently fourth in Premier League Two Division One and meet Chelsea on the Aldershot FC Ground with Westley saying: “We have Sead Haksabanavich, Domingos Quina and Declan Rice available as we try to follow up on the Manchester United victory last week.”

The academy boss added: “Tony Martinez, Nathan Holland and Declan have chances ahead of the match against Spurs and they have to really perform to help push the door open.

“I told them all that today in training and we will be looking for a great performance from them as they try to force their way into contention.”
